Grants & Fellowships

  • VSGNE/NESVS Vascular Research Fellowship (2026-2027)

The VSGNE/NESVS Vascular Research Fellowship will run for 11 months (August 2026-June 2027). The course will consist of 11 lectures which will take place virtually on a monthly basis. Additionally, residents and medical students will be paired with a research mentor who will help them complete a vascular research project.

The project should focus on using VQI data and the mentor will provide assistance on project design, submitting a proposal to the regional RAC, statistical analysis, submission of an abstract to either VAM or the VSGNE regional meeting and writing of the paper. The first half of the year will focus on how to complete a VQI project, while the second half of the year will provide education on other types of research projects. Participants will also be invited to attend a Research Advisory Committee (RAC) meeting and take part in the twice-yearly VSGNE meeting.

    Awards

After completion of the course, projects will be evaluated and the top project will be featured at the spring 2027 VSGNE meeting. Participants will receive up to $750 in reimbursement to cover the cost of travel to the 2027 NESVS Annual Meeting in Boston, MA and the registration fee will be waived.

  • 2027 NESVS Clinical Research Grant

The New England Society for Vascular Surgery (NESVS) would like to announce a funding opportunity for clinical research support. This funding mechanism will support a broad spectrum of clinical research. Studies to be considered should focus on improving outcomes and care in the region. The VSGNE mechanism is acknowledged by the Society as an excellent system for this type of work, but the funding mechanism will consider all types of clinical research.

    Eligibility

Clinical research proposals are submitted by vascular surgery junior faculty who are members of the NESVS or who have an NESVS member willing to sponsor the project. The lead investigator may be a vascular surgery fellow, resident or medical student, but each proposal must have a primary vascular surgery junior faculty who will be the designated principal investigator recipient for the award.
