President’s Message

Colleagues,

I am honored to serve as the 53rd president of the New England Society for Vascular Surgery (NESVS). Our society is home to some of the brightest minds in our field and has been helmed by an extraordinary group of leaders. I am humbled to be included among them. I attended my first NESVS meeting when I was a fellow and was instantly impressed both by the quality of the science presented and by the warmth of the vascular community. Over the years through this society, I have forged many friendships and partnerships that I continue to cherish.

This coming year, I hope to review the value proposition that the NESVS offers to its members in order to continue to optimize it. I also hope to reevaluate the process and content of our annual meeting to make a few modifications to be more inclusive of the larger vascular audience and to perhaps add some entertaining elements, as well. Finally, I will work hard to engage our current membership and attract new candidate members. We will plan an outstanding meeting in October of 2026 in Stowe, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

Sincerely,

Alik
